Eastenders Repertory Company presents Dialogue Between a Prostitute and Her Client (Dialogo di una Prostituta con suo Cliente) Part of Series B of 100 Years of Sex-Acts.
Maraini writes unflinchingly and with passion about the condition of women and about repressive and oppressive gender roles. Dialogue is a brilliant, searing and intentionally provocative work, exploring themes of sensuality, incestual desire, eroticism and the importance of the body. The prostitute, Manila, has chosen prostitution as her occupation. Maraini's confrontational style has Manila breaking the fourth wall and directly addressing questions to the men in the audience.
