Eastenders Repertory Company presents Playing With Fire
Part of Series A of 100 Years of Sex-Acts.

Do you think of Strindberg as brutal and grim? Playing with Fire belongs to the genre known as comédies rosses, and the play includes both tragic and comic elements; its amoral and hypocritical characters, Knut, his parents, his wife Kerstin, their enigmatic friend Axel, and his cousin Adele, are caught up in games of cat and mouse. Playing with Fire sizzles with cynical humor and witty flippant dialogue, combined with a frank eroticism. The play paints a somewhat skeptical, disillusioned portrait of married life, and explores jealousy as a catalyst and stimulant that keeps partners glued to one another.
