Eastenders Repertory Company presents The Informer
Part of Series A of 100 Years of Political Theatre.

Brecht's Fear and Misery of the Third Reich is made up of 24 short scenes that paint a chilling portrait of life under the Nazis. The Informer (Der Spitzel), one of the dramatic sketches under that collective title, is written in the playwright's signature detatched style; as the short drama unfolds, we watch a husband and wife at home, sitting in growing terror that their son, a member of the Hitler Youth, will betray them. The play was written in 1935-38 and first performed in 1938.
