Set against a metaphor of the ceaseless incursion of the coal-mining industry into the hills of southeastern Kentucky, the action of JUNE BUG MUSIC is anchored by the confrontations of the family matriarch and her returning youngest son, with one another, ancestral ghosts and mortality.
