Eastenders Repertory Company presents The Lady of Larkspur Lotion
Part of Series A of Eight by Tenn.

Written in about 1941 and set in a run-down rooming house in the French Quarter of New Orleans, The Lady of Larkspur Lotion offers glimmers of Vieux Carre (in the setting and the characters of the Writer and Mrs. Wire), and of Streetcar Named Desire (in the Blanche-like character of Mrs. Hardwicke-Moore). In this wistful, prototypical Williams story, the "Lady" of the title dreams of her imaginary past on the rubber plantation, and the alcoholic writer of his 780-page masterpiece. Williams first explored in the sensuality and freedom of New Orleans in the years 1938-1939; he immersed himself in his writing while living like a pauper in a rooming house much like the one inhabited by his characters.
