Our Workshops
ERC’s Artistic Staff have conducted a variety of workshops for our artist members and the local acting community at large since 1996.
Previous workshop topics include:
- auditioning
- playwriting
- scene study [topic examples include: Styles of Comedy, Tennessee Williams]
- directing
- stage combat
- Shakespeare
- introduction to costume design
Our highly-regarded Audition Workshops are among the most popular in the Bay Area. At the end of each 6-week session, local casting directors serve as auditors and provide useful one-on-one feedback, critique and encouragement for participants. Amy Potozkin (Berkeley Repertory Theatre), Meryl Shaw (ACT), Greg Hubbard (ACT), Annie Stuart (Marin Theatre Company), Leslie Martinson (TheatreWorks), Patrick Dooley (Shotgun Players) and Nancy Carlin (local actor/director) are among the local artists that have served as auditors during these sessions.
